Ramblings
Hi there,
Just back from a month in Ireland and although the weather could have been kinder we did have a most enjoyable time on both of our Tours.
The Celtic Spirituality Tour with Fr. Liam and Mary Collins had 34 members and we were blessed with some insightful and thoughtful moments as we traveled around the West of Ireland.
Our Enchanted Tour had 29 members and we really did have a blast. On both Tours we stayed in notable hotels, especially Lough Rynn Castle Hotel, the former home of Lord Leitrim…a splendid property where we were treated royally.
We had some terrific sing songs, found some lovely pubs, including one in Hollywood, County Wicklow, had great fun in Westport, stood out in the wilds of Achill Island, cruised Lough Gill, visited monastic ruins and castles and went way off the beaten path on many occasions…all in all two very successful Tours. Thanks to all who came along, thanks to the hotel staff in each location, thanks to Owen Mohan, our driver/guide and thanks to all the memorable folks we met along the way.
I’m off to Ireland again on August 13 with a private customized tour. We’ll spend a week tooling around Dublin, Louth, Meath, Cork, Kerry, Clare and Limerick…should be fun…it’s a nice group of folks that we’ve taken before.
Plans are afoot for our 2013 Tour, which may include some nights in Scotland as well as Ireland.
The time has come for Joanie Madden to either book and pay for the reserved cabins on the Folk ‘N Irish Cruise to the Caribbean in February 2013, or to release the held cabins. If you’re even mildly interested please call and submit your name or make a full reservation. The pricing may change as we draw nearer to the date. I still find it amazing that I should be included in this wonderful line up of Irish musicians and I’m really looking forward to the sailing.

The Green Island Radio Show, now in its 20th year, is going as strong as ever. Listen weekly on the radio (Saturdays: 9:00PM, Wednesdays: 11:00PM) or listen as we stream live at www.gpb.org
I fully expect to perform with Norwegian Cruise Line next month and will furnish the sailing dates and locations as soon as I receive them. This will be my eight year working with NCL.
Thanks, as always, for your support and please verify performance dates here on the website, on my Facebook page, or by email or phone before you come out to a show. Times do change and I recently had a show cancelled twice on St. Simon’s Island, due to rain (re-scheduled for this Sunday, August 5 at 7:00PM: St Simon’s Island Lighthouse, GA…fingers crossed).
Leave a comment on our Guestbook Page here, or leave me a message on Facebook and if you have time you can write a review on any of the venues in which I perform, on Trip Advisor, Urbanspoon, Yelp or any social media site.
All the best for now,
